Gateway to Gold 'Anacapa' X devonianum 'Firefall'
One of my hybrids. Many from this cross have been exceptionally good, most having 3 or 4 spikes on first bloom. The color has been much richer than those from the 'Big Green' cross. The majority have been shades of brown to orange, very few solid lips, but good size and form for a devonianum hybrid, and very floriferous. |

Gateway to Gold 'Anacapa' X devonianum 'Big Green'
One of my hybrids. The green from the devonianum 'Big Green' really comes thru in this cross, with light green undertones on most of them. Again, not many solid lips, and flowers have been much lighter color than the those from the 'Firefall' cross. However, this cross is also free flowering, with many plants having 2 or more spikes. |

Enzan Shining 'Windhill' X Enzan Shining 'Royal Flame'
A Kevin Hipkins hybrid. Form is not great, but the color and fragrance is outstanding. |
Gold Bullion (Coral Gold X Sydney Harbor)
A Tony Velardi hybrid. Another Gold Bullion with outstanding color and reasonably good form. This cross has been exceptional for high color yellow albas. |

Blanche Ames 'Geyserland' X devonianum 'Geyserland'
An Andy Easton hybrid. I have never seen a lip like this before, unique and eye-catching. Two spikes in the fall, and two more coming in the spring. This plant may be in bloom all season! |

Champagne Robin 'Geyserland' X Red Beauty 'Netty'
This Hatfield cross should have some award winners. The first few to bloom have had exceptional form and size, all in pink shades with varying degrees of spotting. |

Champagne Robin 'Geyserland' X Red Beauty 'Netty'
This is another exceptional seedling from the cross. This one is pink, as the others have been shades of white with pink blush and spotting. Size and form is outstanding. Flower count is low, but hopefully will improve in the future. |

Jessica Dubroff 'Moneymaker' X Red Beauty 'Netty'
A Hatfield Orchids hybrid. This is the first to bloom from the few that I bought in 3in. pots. It has a nice contrasting lip that really catches the eye. |
Mae West 'Jerry' X devonianum 'Firefall'
Another one of my hybrids. Plant size has been much more compact when compared to the Gateway to Gold cross, and in general the colors have been very rich. |
Beverly Cobb 'Evilyn Paley'
An Andy Easton hybrid. This is by far the most fragrant cymbidium I have ever smelled! It has faint red feathering that fades to non-existent, but for fragrance this plant is hard be beat. |
Blazing Rose 'Feathered' (meristem)
This plant is a meristem of Blazing Rose 'Feathered'. The feathering on this flower was completely lost during the cloning process. Surprisingly, the color is fairly good and very different than the Mother plant. The five that have bloomed for me so far look identical to this plant. This really shows that certain plants just will not meristem to look like the original, especially feathered and peloric types. It appears that the likelyhood of any of these meristems blooming true is probably low, but there are still more to come. |
Blazing Rose 'Feathered' (mother plant)
This is the mother plant that was hybridized by Bryant's Orchids in Austrailia. I put the picture here for reference to compare to the meristem. Note the remarkable difference in color. Even the form on the lip changed a bit. |
Sangria Sunset 'Burnt Orange'
Another Andy Easton hybrid. This has outstanding saturated color and the form and substance is exceptional with very flat 14 cm flowers. Flower count is low, but hopefully will improve on future bloomings. |
Golden Opportunity #1 (Mae West X Gateway to Gold)
This is one of my hybrids. This is the first to bloom from this cross. It has good size and form, and a very pleasant orange coloration (hard to duplicate in the photo). Two spikes on first bloom. Flower count is marginal, but again, hopefully will improve on future blooms. |
God Only Knows 'Geyserland' X Tracey Reddaway 'Geyserland'
A Hatfield Orchids hybrid. This plant is very floriferous and the flowers have a good shelf life. This is my favorite from the cross. |
Pauline Fletcher 'Grand Flame'
This is a Kevin Hipkins hybrid. The flower is very large, and the color pops in the sunlight. |
Mem. Lena Elizabeth Bauer 'Laura Marie'
Another Hatfield Orchids hybrid. This is an exceptional pink flower that lasts 3 months and is non-fading. This cross was unusual in that there were at least 6 feathered plants from the cross, along with many award quality pinks. Nice job George! |
James Toya 'Feathered'
This is a mersitem mutation of James Toya 'New Horizon'. A large and very flat flower with a huge lip. |
(Devon Gala X Devon Odyssey)
Another Easton Hybrid. This one hit the mark. Three spikes on first bloom with a beautiful contrasting dark lip. |
Geno's Gem 'Green Pearl'
This is another good Geno's Gem bred by Tony Valardi. Doesn't have the flower quality of either 'Catcher' or 'Emerald Fire', but you can't argue with the floriferousness. This plant is an easy grower and makes a spectacular specimen display. It was awarded the Nelson Trophy for best Cymbidium Specimen Orchid at the 2011 Santa Barbara International Orchid Show, along with a Cultural Award from the CSA. |
White Knight 'Tower' (Hazel Tyers X Joan's Charisma)
This is the first plant to bloom from a cross that I made. It was the only one to bloom this year. If this plant is any indication of what is to come, the cross may have some potential - very tall whites with good flower count. |
Tethy's 'Hatfields' 4n
This is an Easton Hybrid. It is from a selfing of Tethy's 'Carrot Top' 4n. It doesn't show the orange from Carrot Top, but sure has some rich pastel colors that are quite unusual in combination. The Pink and magenta tones on the lip really set it off! |
Golden Opportunity #2 (Mae West X Gateway to Gold)
This is another one of my hybrids. This was the fourth to bloom from this cross. It has good size and form, very flat and rich golden color. If the first four are any indication of what is to come, there could be many nice plants from this cross. |
